I feel that it would be a great idea for Dimmesdale and Hester to run away together. If they run away together of course people will know that they committed adultery, but the two will be gone and will not face the wrath of the townspeople. Running away would create an amazing opportunity for the two parents of Pearl to begin raising her properly and give her a wonderful childhood. Pearl is beginning to love and cherish her mother more and more as she grows older. The bond between mother and daughter is growing causing Pearl to mature into a young woman. When Pearl kisses the scarlet letter it is showing that she does not fear the letter and respects that her mother is wearing the letter to redeem her sin. Pearl still does not know that Dimmesdale is her father and so she does not show much love and respect towards him. Once Pearl finds out who her father is she will probably be ecstatic.

I agree with Alyssa on her opinion of Hester and Dimmesdale running away together would be a good idea. People are going to eventually find out that Dimmesdale is Pearl's father, and by running away it is only going to make it easier on Pearl, Hester, and Dimmesdale. This way they won't have to face the wrath of the people and Pearl will have a happier childhood. She is already maturing and growing up, showing this when she kisses the scarlet letter. I think it is time that Pearl finds out her father is Dimmesdale, and I think she will handle it well.

Though running away is a great option because whats easier then running away? They could start a new life and raise Pearl alone without the judgment of the town and judgment of their sin. Hester and Dimmesdale have potential to be amazing parents as I believe every parents does, but running away is only going to teach Pearl to run away from her problems. It may be easier and better in a way to run away but sometimes you need to deal with your problems or they will haunt you.
